Musicians and SpeakersOnsite Talent at the Gathering
We are fortunate to have numerous musicians participating in the Gathering, including Nashville favorite Larry Gatlin; The Red Dirt Rangers from Tulsa, OK; local supergroup Hillbilly Weed; Monica Taylor, Travis Fite, Jared Tyler, and Casey Van Beek; and many more. Live music will staged at multiple locations in Quanah, with drummers and dancers at the Medicine Mounds campsite.
The Gathering isn't all music, though! On Friday and Saturday, multiple history and culture sessions will be held in the Quanah High School Auditorium, including some panel presentations and several individual lectures. Whether your interests lean to Dr. Joaquín Rivaya-Martínez of Texas State University at San Marcos, one of the foremost experts on 18th and 19th century Comanche history, discussing "Comanches and the Land: a Symbiotic Relationship," or hearing author W.K. Stratton on "What Really Happened at the so-called Battle of the Pease River," or panels of members of the Parker Family or the Comanche Indian Veterans Association, the topics and speakers should be fascinating.
